Brother Garry Kirkwood PM Honoured for 50 Years Service

At the Regular Meeting held on Wednesday, 18th February 2026, Brother Garry Ronald Yuill Kirkwood, Past Master, was presented with his Jubilee Certificate and 50 Year Jewel in recognition of fifty years of dedicated service to Lodge Kelso & Tweed No. 58 and to the Craft in general. It was a fitting tribute to a well-liked and highly respected Brother.

Brother Tim Slater, IPM, had the privilege of making the presentation. This proved particularly poignant, as they have known one another for over forty years, dating back to their time in the Tweed Lodge of Kelso No. 261, where both served as Right Worshipful Masters.

Bro. Garry joined The Tweed Lodge of Kelso No. 261 on 4th February 1976 and progressed steadily through the Offices before serving as Right Worshipful Master in 1994.

He currently holds the office of Depute Master, a role he has faithfully carried out since the Amalgamation in 2011. He continues to serve the Lodge diligently, undertaking the many small yet important tasks that often go unseen. Brother Garry is present at most, if not all, visitations and social events and is always excellent company — as reflected in the photographs below.
