Lodge Kelso & Tweed 58

Since 1701 - the oldest Fraternal Society in Kelso

Kelso & Tweed holds its first Open Day

On Civic Week Saturday Lodge  Kelso & Tweed 58 held its very first Open Day. It was a busy time as visitors came and went throughout the day. We had locals and visitors from far afield enjoying the hospitality and learning about the history of the Lodge.

There was an opportunity to watch a presentation “Our links to the Past” and to view our ancient minute books dating back to 1701. Many of the locals found that they had family connections with the Lodge. The extent of our charity work also surprised many.

We were honoured by a visit from the Kelso Pipe Band who entertained the company and enjoyed some of our hospitality. The band’s final piece was the regimental pipe tune of the KOSB’s which pleased our IPM Bro Mick Todd. Our thanks to Pipe Major Alan Veitch and company, haste ye back next year!
